Able to carry up to 12 passengers, this is the perfect venue for that special occasion, party, promotion, business meeting or training session. This unique luxury passenger ship was built in 1923 as a motorised cargo vessel. She was used for the transport of baking materials, butter, eggs and flour throughout the European inland waterways. When "Hoop op Welvaart" was retired after her hard-working industrial career, she was moored in the port of Kampen, Holland. There, she became a Maritime Museum, telling the story of inland shipping of yesteryear. In 1995 she "told her story" to Jan B.G. Soecker, a businessman from Alkmaar, Holland. And Jan fell for her. He bought "Hoop op Welvaart" and three years later, after an extensive refit and refurbishment costing € 750.000,- , this Grand Dame has once again become a jewel in the crown of Dutch shipping. The "Hoop op Welvaart" is now Jan's second love. The first, being his wife Barbara!
